Hosanna, Loud Hosanna

by Angie Burrell

The monthly Second Cup Sunday (coffee and cookies) was held prior to worship.

Palm Sunday began the journey through Holy Week with members of Sunday School distributing Palms to the congregation during the Palm Sunday Parade while the hymn, Hosanna, Loud Hosanna was sung.

Readings were “Jesus Goes to Jerusalem” and “The Last Supper”.

Palm Sunday Dialogue was presented by Brian Burris and Joan Fraser (colourfully dressed for Easter and ready for a parade) during which Brian explained that it was not that kind of a parade and invited her to stay and join in worship with us and to learn the meaning of Easter.

Ministry of Music offered by the choir was Hosanna! Sing Praises.

Rev. Moriarty reminded us of the Passover Tradition and the Seder Meal observed by our Jewish friends and how it relates to us as Christians. Members of the Sunday School helped her in preparing the Haroset by bringing ingredients to the table and reading the significance of each ingredient.

The congregation and choir enthusiastically sang and clapped along to the Hymn “Dadayeinu – Enough” as we shared in the Haroset & Unleavened Bread.

Today’s worship was an intergenerational worship and a huge thanks was expressed to all involved.
