Pictou United marks end of Sunday School Year

Pictou – Greeting the congregation were Ebon, Bbreagh and Erin MacMillan, steward was Murray McLaren.
Margaret Anne Dobson gave the Mission Moment.
Lighting the Christ Candle was Alana and Taylor Toole, Sueann and Charlotte Musick did the Call to Worship.
As this day was the closing for Sunday school, they shared a power point presentation of their year. Brad MacCallum on behalf of church council thanked all those involved in any way, small tokens of appreciation and certificates were handed out. The congregation joined the children in singing This Little Light of Mine. Mr. Simmons gave the children a plate of smores he made for them to have for their celebration.
Hebrew Scripture Genesis 12: 1-9 and Responsive Psalm 3 were read by Sandy Mackay. Gospel Lesson Mathew 9:9-13 was read by Mike Simmons.
During Meditation, Mr. Simmons spoke of how God calls us in many ways to follow Him. He usually uses someone else to come with the word, we are all equal in God’s eyes when we serve Him and when He calls we are to listen.
Each Congregation member was presented with two tree seedlings upon leaving church and was asked to plant them with love.
This Sunday’s service will be our 44th Anniversary Celebration and Memorial Hymn Sing at 10:30 – Everyone is Welcome.
