“Thank You God for Making Me, Me”

by Sharon Cheverie

Pictou- Greeting the congregation were Gayle and Harris MacKenzie, steward was Peter Fraser.

Lighting the Christ Candle and call to worship was read by Emily Cyr.

Rev. Mary-Beth Moriarity reminded the congregation that this week is the week of prayer sponsored by the Pictou Town Ministerial and celebrated with a daily payer service each day at 12:15 PM in one of the town churches.

Time with the children today was spent talking about how each and every one of us is unique. Our bodies are amazing, and different. No two are the same. That difference is good and wonderful. She asked the children to thank God for making me, me. She then had them wrap their arms around themselves to give themselves a hug and to remember God is in us. The congregation joined the children in singing “Like a Rock” Rev.

Moriarity extended an “Invitation to Listen” to think about who you are and whose you are as she did the readings “we are Holy…Wholly Loved”, “Here and There, Always and Everywhere” a paraphrase of Psalm 139, Hebrew Scripture Psalm 139 Known by God, “Thank You for Making Me, Me” a paraphrase of Psalm 139 and A Wisdom Story “God’s Fingerprints”.

She asked all of us to remember we are beautiful, important and loved.

Ministry of Music “Creator God You Gave Us Light” was offered by the choir.
