George Leonard ‘Nickie' Bray
George Leonard “Nickie” Bray, 63, of Scotch Hill, Pictou County passed away suddenly April 28, 2009 in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Pictou, he was a son of the late Donald & Elizabeth (Davidson) Bray.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Nickie was retired from Michelin Tire after 32 years service.
His passions in life were fishing, hunting, bluegrass music and camping, especially at Seafoam. He also enjoyed bingo, and being the number one hockey fan of his 3 grandsons. Nickie will be remembered as a good man who was always ready & willing to help. His visits on the front porch swing will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie (Langille); children, Marilyn, Scotch Hill; Blair (Kim), Pictou; Shelly, Three Brooks; grandsons, Jordan, Corey, and Nicholas; brothers & sisters, Tootsie (Harold) MacRae, Pictou; Peggy (Bill) Echlin, Lyons Brook; Donald (Peggy), Scotch Hill; Jessie (Ket) Casey, Pictou; Gary (Irene), Scotch Hill; Norma (Leonard) Lynch, Scotch Hill; Allan (Dawn) Three Brooks; Billy (Debbie), Scotch Hill; Donna (Sandy) Usher, Three Brooks; Ricky (Leah), Alberta.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by sister, Elsie Slaunwhite.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Saturday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou.
Funeral service will take place 3:00 p.m. Sunday from Pictou United Church, with Rev. Mary-Beth Moriarity officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the church hall.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
