Pictou United bids organist Stewart Munro farewell and best wishes
by Sharon Cheverie
PICTOU UNITED CHURCH - Greeting the congregation were Frank and Eva MacLean, steward was Bev Simmons.
Lighting the Christ Candle and Call to Worship was done by Charlotte Musick.
Donna Weaver gave a report on the John Sands concert.
Moment for all shared by Rev. Mary-Beth Moriarity showed that we all have something to offer. We all can either sing along or hum a tune and she reminded us that to sing is to pray twice.
Hebrew Scripture and Gospel Lesson were read by Peter Fraser.
Ministry of Music was shared by the church choir as they sang “Psalm 91- On Eagles Wings”. Various favorite Hymn selections were sung by the congregation and choir.
Special thanks were extended by Rev. Moriarity to Stewart Munro our organist who is leaving along with his wife Susan to teach in China. A gift of appreciation and “special notes” of well wishes were also presented by Brad MacCallum on behalf of the congregation and choir to Stewart, he will be missed.
A Reminder that Fun Script orders will go in on Sunday the 31rst.
Join us this Sunday @ 10:30 in celebration of Pentecost Sunday as we celebrate the gift of God’s spirit and the birthday of the church. Wear something red the color of Pentecost.
