A “call” from God
by Sharon Cheverie
Pictou - Greeting the congregation were Diane Vaughn and Ross MacLeod, steward was Ian MacDonald.
Vee Reich gave a report on the very successful Ten Thousand Villages sale held over the weekend. She extended a thank-you to all who support this project.
Lighting the Christ Candle was Amelia Parker.
Time with the children started with a “call” from God. Rev. Mary-Beth Moriarity explained to how God calls us to be kind and helpful to others. We share God's love when we are kind. He lets us know that we are special.
Hebrew Scripture and Gospel Lesson were read by Rev. Moriarity.
We were honored to welcome as a special guest to today’s worship Rev. Tesshin James Smith, Head Monk of the Atlantic Soto Zen Centre as he spoke to the congregation about the similarities in the practice of his faith compared with ours.
Following worship the congregation was invited to the hall to greet Tesshin Smith and to join in a time of food and fellowship hosted by the worship committee.
Please join us this Sunday at 9:45 for Second Cup Sunday. All are Welcome.
